Studio Highlights: December, 2024
What a year it’s been. Throughout 2024, I’ve explored and written about some of Australia’s most beautiful corners, uncovering how places shape our homes, neighbourhoods, and sense of belonging. Below are just a few highlights that kept me busy as the year came to a close.
From welcoming Australian Traveller as a new client to embarking on a month-long coastal road trip—ending with Christmas in Newcastle with family—December was a fitting finale.
Along the way, I completed commissioned photography assignments for Domain, capturing the beauty of Australia’s coastline, proving there’s no better place to wrap up the year than by the sea.

The dazzling beachfront apartment at 102/134 Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach, first featured in my What To See This Weekend column—before earning the coveted cover spot on Domain magazine’s December 7 issue.
Looking out to a horizon where the sky meets the sea, this apartment captivates with its blend of minimalist luxury and original design features, including its timeless facade.
“The refurbished bay window with booth seating and 3.6-metre ceilings in the living room steals the show,” says the agent. “Sitting at the booth is always a crowd favourite, with views from Icebergs to Ben Buckler is like no other in Bondi.”

~ Featured Properties ~
In my What To See This Weekend and Coast & Country columns for Domain, I highlighted a selection of standout properties from Sydney to the beautiful stretches of regional NSW.
26-28 Roylston Street, Paddington
Completely transformed behind its original facade, this tri-level residence epitomises modern living and an entertainer’s lifestyle, with expansive spaces, polished concrete floors, and abundant natural light. “A masterclass in warehouse conversion, it juxtaposes an exposed sandstone cliff with towering glass walls,” notes the agent. “Set in a leafy cul-de-sac, it offers access to the gallery precinct, Trumper Park, and Five Ways.”
23 Rayner Road, Whale Beach
Brilliantly inspirational, The Classic Beach House at Whale Beach seamlessly merges outside terraces with exquisitely crafted interiors that frame breathtaking north-facing views. “Once a timber-clad original, it has been sensitively reimagined to capture panoramic vistas from Whale Beach to the Central Coast,” notes the agent. “Four stunning outdoor spaces evoke the Amalfi Coast, but with the added magic of whales gliding by.”
6-8 Crown Street, Burrawang
With a storybook entrance defined by its gabled roof, sash windows, and rose-laden front porch, ‘Hawthorn’ reveals an impeccably renovated Victorian-era home. “Every detail, from refreshed timber floors to antique-matched fixtures and period-true hues, celebrates its storied past,” the agent remarks. “An expansive deck overlooks a garden filled with roses, lavender, and mature hedges, capturing the essence of the Southern Highlands.”
15 Patchway Place, Burradoo
Surrounded by magnificent park-like grounds, ‘Patchdale’ epitomises serenity and grandeur across two luxurious levels, offering elegance both indoors and out. “Inside, the north-facing informal living area, complete with a fireplace, flows to expansive outdoor entertaining spaces and lush gardens,” notes the agent. “Outside, a swimming pool, expansive patio, and extraordinary outdoor fireplace provide the ultimate setting for entertaining.”
~ Favourite Edit ~
For my Design Digest column in Domain Prestige, my favourite edit this month was Gift of Giving—a curated selection of beautiful gift ideas for the home, perfect for tucking under the Christmas tree.
Spoil the decorator, home cook, or green thumb in your life with these gorgeous gift ideas, ready for the silly season.
CURTAIN CALL Reimagined in lush Olive and Mint, Maison Balzac’s iconic Gaspard Vase makes a bold return. Inspired by French mime Jean-Gaspard Deburau's theatrical attire, its generous opening invites blooms to playfully flourish.
ARTFUL LINEN Bursting with summer vibes, the Linen Tea Towel collection by Bespoke Letterpress x Eliza Koch features vibrant artwork that captures coastal days and garden gatherings. Printed on 100% linen, the range includes highlights like ‘By the Sea’ and ‘Passionfruit Pavlova’.
TOOL TIME Crafted for the modern gardener, the Gardening Belt by Le Sac blends function and fashion. With reinforced pockets and a sturdy cotton canvas build, it offers a chic solution for keeping tools always within arm’s reach.
BITS AND BOBS Crafted from solid stone, COREY ASHFORD’s Atlas Bowl is designed to cradle treasures and treats. Available in Verde, Travertine, and Bianco marbles, each hand-sculpted piece is uniquely distinct, like its own work of art.
~ Photography Highlights ~
Ending the year on a sunny note, I completed a series of commissioned photographs for Domain, capturing the coastal allure of NSW, including the small seaside pockets of Tathra and Bendalong—places I will later cover in my Out of Town column in the new year.
