France: From Paris with Love

As our final stop before heading home, we arrived in Paris with barely any travel energy left. Yet, there’s something intoxicating about this city that makes you reach into your reserve tank and get walking.

Paris always shines, but festive lights bring an extra sparkle, especially along the banks of the Seine, within passageway galeries, and the boulevards circling the Eiffel Tower.

While there’s certainly less greenery in winter, the parks dotted around the city are peaceful and picturesque just the same. Paintings of Van Gogh and Monet still adorn gallery walls, shops still spill out along cobblestone streets, and water still trinkles from fountains.

This was our third visit to Paris, so the pressure to run around and see everything was absent. Instead, we spent our time doing all our favourite things in a city we’ve come to know and dearly love.

I couldn’t imagine a better way to end one of our most eventful years yet.

Discovering new pockets of Paris by foot.

Revisiting familiar favourites.

Wandering through parks where winter reveals its quiet magic.

Admiring the charm of Parisian architecture.

Embracing the last moments of Christmas cheer.

Immersing in the world of art, one gallery at a time.

Exploring the city as it shimmers under the night sky.

Spending an entire day at Saint Ouen Flea Market.

Ringing in the New Year with opera, fireworks, and dancing at the Palace of Versailles.
