L'Atelier Daylesford: A Perched Parisian Apartment

The drive between Melbourne and Daylesford is quickly becoming familiar. Arriving here feels like catching up with an old friend, with the added excitement of swinging open a new door to stay with each visit, this time around, L'Atelier.

This exquisite Parisian-style apartment is perched atop the equally charming European-inspired homewares store eCasa Daylesford, both of which are under the loving care of Jo.

The building is an Edwardian terrace with large picture windows gracing the front, opening to the main street of Daylesford, overlooking fellow historic buildings, reminding me of those central apartments found in Europe’s main squares.

Inside, the decor transports you to a French retreat with its comfy linen sofas, vintage framed prints, and antique display cabinets that are both a marvel and a mystery—how did they get these up here?

And then, of course, there are the hidden joys revealed only to those who stay: the way the afternoon light dances on the living room walls or the sheer bliss of soaking in the freestanding bathtub found in its dedicated room.
