Glassholme: A Home High Above Hobart

Hobart’s charm may lie in its historic buildings, but modern marvels like Glassholme add a fresh layer to the city’s character. Perched high above, this architectural beauty feels like staying in the city’s own Hollywood Hills, capturing sweeping views of the Derwent River and the city below.

Take, for example, the vast living room, flooded with natural light and framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase every stunning angle of the view. This space, effortlessly blending design and nature, felt beautifully suspended between earth and sky.

Here, early risers are treated to a golden show. The first rays of sunrise streamed in, reflecting off the timber floors and casting warm shadows that danced across the room.

Competing for attention with the ever-changing view beyond was the designer fireplace that anchored the room, its flickering warmth a welcome companion. Many elements reflected a thoughtful celebration of Hobart’s artistry and craftsmanship, from the large artwork by Clifford How to the Tasmanian-made furniture that graced the space with pride.

Upstairs, the feature staircase led to a luxurious king bedroom and bathroom, where the views followed you. Whether lying in bed or soaking in the freestanding bath, the beauty of Hobart’s twinkling lights and vibrant sunrises were always within reach.

The loft bathroom, adorned with lush indoor plants, offered a sanctuary of indulgence. Long candlelit baths and rainfall showers with views of the city below made it feel like nature and luxury were perfectly intertwined.

Out on the deck, two armchairs provided a perfect vantage point for Hobart’s dynamic scenery. Below, wallabies hopped along the grass, pausing curiously to observe their human guests. Though many will experience this view, in those quiet moments, it felt entirely ours.

While Hobart offered us endless activities, Glassholme had a magic of its own. From high above, we watched the city hum with life, feeling connected to its energy even in the serene comfort of this breathtaking home.
