A Serene Stay: The Habitat House

During our days spent at the magical Yarra Valley, we took retreat at one of Botanica Edition's properties, The Habitat House. It was a real treat to have somewhere this beautiful to retire to after busy days filled with exploring the region.

Upon arrival, we self-checked ourselves in smoothly, thanks to the clear instructions that were given to us beforehand. As we entered the home, it was very clear that the owner Karen, has lovingly thought about every single detail within this 2-bedroom beauty, from the welcome note & gifts, to the gas log heater being left on, all the way through to the abundance of comfy cushions and throws.

What surrounded the home was just as enchanting — a well kept garden designed and landscaped by Karen's husband, Greg. There were willow trees and pathways around the garden with a bridge that went over a trickling creek. Harvest sprawled all over the gardens as well as in greenhouses. Everything complimented the feel of the house itself, allowing guests to feel a million miles away from the everyday grind.

The Habitat House is located in Badger Creek, which is only a 2-minute drive to the town of Healesville and a very short distance to many fantastic surrounding wineries. This made it very convenient for us to get to and from all the plans we had laid out for the days to come.

Three nights later and it was time to head home. As I packed my belongings and headed to the airport, I felt relaxed and rejuvenated — and I'm confident my stay here had a lot to do with that.
