Newcastle — or, as the locals call it — ‘Newy’, has seen an almighty resurgence over the last several years, with a new cafe, bar, or restaurant opening its doors almost every week.

Whilst the area is known for its award-winning wineries and locally sourced food, the ‘back to nature’ pull of its surrounds is one not to be underestimated.

Last night I attended an intimate event with IKEA Australia, where they hosted their Cotten Conversation Dinner, at a warehouse studio in Alexandria, Sydney.

Luckily, what I came to discover is that I really didn't have to try too hard; Copenhagen was naturally charming, easy on the eye, and the type of place you fall for, rather quickly.

Spanning over two days, the event provided an opportunity for invited journalists and influencers from around the world, to get a scoop on the latest product designs and developments for the company.

As we stepped inside, it was as if the crackling fireplace gave me a big welcome hug — instantly, I felt at home.

The space was sprinkled with an extra dose of magic dust, thanks the event’s host, Lillet — a French aperitif brand, based from Podensac, a small village south of Bordeaux.

When there is so much to see in a city, so much becomes unknown, and so when discovery can befall at a moment’s notice, every new day is bound to be vastly different from the next.

As we arrived in New Orleans, I couldn't help but notice the certain twinkle sprinkled around its historic streets. The very first moment I stepped foot along the French Quarter, it felt as though I had been teleported to a charming European town of yesteryear.
