For our final stop on our Tasmanian roadtrip, we crisscrossed our way back through Hobart, heading north to the Southern Midlands region, where we reunited with Raffah House; a stunning sandstone cottage in the quaint town of Oatlands.

Given how this raw weather was looking to likely hold fast, we happily embraced all of the comforts that the boathouse bestowed, by keeping snug in the secluded corner of the living room, with generous bi-fold windows, where we could idly watch the waves crash onto the nearby jetty.

This is where we've spent the last couple of days, unwinding in the living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, where I've spotted strikes of lightning from a passing storm, a rainbow after a spurt of rain, and the full moon rising come nightfall.

The terrace house is a story of great resilience. Not only have they survived since being introduced to Australia in the 19th century, but they have thrived under a new generation of homeowners who've proudly modernised them, whilst maintaining their old-world bones.
